‍This project involved designing and developing a portfolio website for a sound engineer whose work spans multiple artists and genres. The goal was to create a cohesive digital experience that showcased a visually diverse body of work while clearly communicating the engineer’s role in each project. The site also needed a clean, scalable backend for easy ongoing updates.
01. The Process

In the definition and ideation phases, I explored how a minimalist interface could support complex content. The guiding question became: what can we remove while still keeping the experience seamless and intuitive? I developed a modular grid layout anchored by clean typography and subtle hover interactions, allowing visitors to navigate between projects effortlessly.

To ensure the site could evolve over time, I built it on a CMS framework with structured fields for project details, credits, and embedded audio. This kept the backend simple and efficient, making it easy for the client to update or expand their portfolio without design intervention.

02. Challenges & Constraints

The main constraint was designing through reduction: stripping back unnecessary visual and functional elements while maintaining engagement and usability. Every component had to earn its place, supporting both clarity and storytelling.

03. The Outcome

The final site delivers a calm, intuitive experience that puts the work itself at the forefront. It’s elegant, efficient, and built to grow, reflecting both the precision and creativity of the sound engineer’s craft.
